Frequently asked questions
How do I know how strong my cannabutter is?
Estimate the total THC that went into the batch, then divide by the volume of butter or oil you made. This calculator gives you milligrams per tablespoon and teaspoon so you can dose recipes with confidence. Treat it as an estimate and start low, go slow.
What infusion efficiency should I assume?
Home infusions commonly land somewhere around 0.5 to 0.7, meaning roughly half to two thirds of the available THC transfers into the fat. Lower, slower heat and straining gently tend to give cleaner, more predictable results.
How do I keep edibles a consistent strength?
Make a known-strength infusion, label it, and measure it by the tablespoon when you cook. Combined with even portioning of the finished dish, this is the most reliable way to keep each serving close to the same dose.
How much infused fat does a recipe need?
It depends on the recipe and your target dose per serving. Use this calculator to find the strength per tablespoon, then choose how many tablespoons to use so the total divided by servings lands in a comfortable range.
